Veteran Testimonial: Mac
From an Air Force Special Operations Veteran:
“Since the moment you left Mac with me, he hasn’t been more than 20 feet away from me (except to chase a ball). It was an instant bond, Mac doesn’t let me out of his sight. If I stand up, he stands up. (He is sleeping on me as I type this.) We have been everywhere together; restaurants, doctor’s offices, grocery stores, work, schools, and church. Everywhere we go I get complimented on how well behaved he is, and that is a testament to you.
I got Mac at the perfect time. I don’t really have a 9-5 job at the moment since I'm going through the MEB process, but before Mac came to me I was in a bad place. Deep depression, paralyzing anxiety, and alcohol abuse/ dependency. Getting back in the gym, being consistent with my meds, and cutting the drinking was not an easy task but all these things just kinda happened right after Mac came along. I don’t know if I found some motivation somewhere or Mac gave it to me but he has been the best medicine I could have asked for. At first, when I was offered a Service Dog from our medical staff, I turned it down without really knowing what these dogs can be for someone struggling. After my wife convinced me to get one, I started to look forward to it and Mac has exceeded every expectation.
He is the most loyal living thing I have ever had around me and it’s a great feeling having unconditional love and support 24/7. To say he has been a game-changer for me is an understatement. I appreciate you and Second Chance K9.”
